The Scouts meet every Tuesday from 7.30pm to 9.15pm at the 2nd Reigate H.Q. The age range for Scouts is 10 1/2 to 14 years and new members are always welcome. If you would like to join please contact us or come along next Tuesday.

There is a wide range of activities for the Scouts to take part in: first aid, knots, pioneering, chip shop survey and camping as well as activity and challenge badges to work on. In addition to their weekly meetings there are lots of other District and County organised events.

The highlight of the Scouting year is their week long Annual Camp where there are always plenty of opportunities to take part in canoeing, climbing, abseiling, hiking or rafting. Don't forget to pack the salt and pepper for the famous 2nd Reigate gourmet cooking competition!

ACTIVITIES

Scouts are frequently away under canvas. This is what Scouting is all about. There is little in the way of additional equipment that they need, and a kit list will be provided well before the event.Over the last couple of years the Scouts have been at Summer Camp(s) in Dorset & Hertfordshire; canoeing, climbing, abseiling, hiking, cycling, rafting, and gourmet cooking.

There has been a wide range of activities for Scouts to take part in this year. In addition to the Tuesday evening activities there have been: a lightweight hike and navigation event; a week-end patrol activity camp, a Survival Camp at Roverdene, and a Climbing Evening at High Sports in Salfords, as well as a Caving trip down the Merstham Mines. In addition the Scouts entered teams in the District Football, Hiking (Cowhorn) & Raft Building (Kontiki) Events. The Troop also attends“Scoutabout” where “a hundred and one” activities are available.

Scouting is an adventure because we do all sorts. We tie up ropes, we go climbing, we build stuff - like bridges. The 2nd Reigate are the best!
