The Cubs meet every Wednesday from 6.30pm to 8.00pm at the 2nd Reigate H.Q. The age range for Cubs is 8 to 10 1/2 years and new members are always welcome. If you would like to join please contact us or come along next Wednesday.

The Cub Scouts enjoy a range of both indoor and outdoor activities. Favourite activities include building bivouacs, cooking inside and outside, learning knots, tracking, playing rounders and camping. Not to mention the annual water fight before the summer holidays which turns into a large-scale battle on the common where the Cubs show great cunning and ingenuity, as well as a great sense of humour.

The Cubs also enjoy working on their activity and challenge badges and attending the annual Swimming Gala, Go-Kart races and other activities organised by Reigate District. To help run the Pack meetings, Cubs’ parents and Young Leaders assist by supervising activities on the Wednesday evenings and help with outings. We will be asking you to spare one evening each term to support the existing Leaders’ team in their running of the Pack. On this evening, you will learn a great deal about Scouting in general and Cub Scouts in particular.

ACTIVITIES

“10 bins, 4 planks of wood, 3m of rope and a river full of crocodiles. Sounds like a normal Wednesday night.”

Cubs have enjoyed an exciting and varied range of both indoor and outdoor activities.

A lot of recent focus has been on Activity Badges – and we have done a number of Craft & DIY projects including making Fathers Day Key Rings & Plant Pots & Bird Boxes.

Most evenings during the summer find the Pack out on the common building Bivouac camps, tracking, playing Baseball or Rounders, Hiking, or trying out different ways of cooking “bangers” on both gas and open wood fires. The highlight for many Cubs before the summer recess is the water fight up on the Common.

Cub Scouts go on outings and sometimes on indoor sleep overs. Occasionally, they camp under canvas.
